A couple of months ago, Inetec and Magics kicked-off the project supported by RIMA, to develop the next gen of Inetec's Lancer: a fully digital, more sustainable rad-hard robotic system to support nuclear inspections at the reactor vessel by using Magics' rad-hard solutions.
Until now, the team focused on the redesign of Inetec’s modular PCB, to control all systems of the manipulator, and developed a board with the integration of Magics’ rad-hard microchips as possible replacement of that modular PCB. The next step is testing both designs in a test radiation environment to measure the impact of rad-hard solutions compared to the current way of practice of the Lancer II.
