Reactor Pressure Vessel Inspection

INETEC has performed a great number of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) inspections worldwide and has an experienced personnel and state-of-the-art equipment to efficiently inspect all types of VVER and PWR RPVs.

INETEC RPV inspection system is capable to perform remote under water ultrasonic, eddy current and visual testing, local grinding action, as well as taking of boat samples. The INETEC RPV inspection system including equipment, procedures and personnel successfully passed several different qualifications according to the ENIQ/IAEA and ASME Section XI requirements.

INETEC RPV inspection system is employed for full scope of volumetric and surface examinations, including examinations of circumferential and longitudinal welds, core region, nozzle welds, inner radius sections and vessel-to-flange weld. A contact ultrasonic technique is applied for the examination of the defined sections required by the ASME Code Section XI or other applicable standards, while the eddy current method is applied for the surface examinations up to 3 mm in depth.

INETEC applies high performance non-destructive testing systems and solutions for data recording, processing and analysis. The sophisticated fully automated video system is used for visual inspection of vessel interior and related attachments, as well as for foreign object search and retrieval services. The completely non-destructive testing systems are fully integrated with the INETEC RPV system. All operations and control activities during RPV examinations are remotely controlled by PC workstations located outside of the reactor building.
